Time during takeback

Jonah, how did you handle mouseslips in the park?

chunkymonkey, I know what altruism is, thanks. However, I still have no clue what message you're trying to get across.
In a public place, whether a park or a coffeehouse, there are all kinds of distractions. The rule stays the same: touch move, no takebacks. Online, it always comes down to the mouse-slip. A slip is carelessness or nerves over a difficult position or time pressure. These are mistakes that can be improved upon. I hold myself responsible for my own mistakes and expect my opponent will do the same.
It seems to me if White makes a move and Black offers a takeback, it would make sense to set Black's clock back.

Situations with multiple takebacks are more complicated and I haven't figured that out yet. I've even seen sites which get this "wrong" - for example, White spends 5 minutes on a move, requests a takeback, and gets his 5 minutes back.
