Poetry is the ultimate expression of thoughts,there are many forms of it such as haiku and rhymes. Never deny inspiration as being too weird or outlandish.
Write using words that will catch your audience's attention such as donned or other uncommon vocabulary.
When writing poetry imply several meanings in each sentence so that your poem will be more rich in meaning.
Never ever give up a poem , you can take a break or rewrite it but don't give it up. There is always people who will like what you make,so cater to the public and not gonna single faction.
Write about what you're going through or your last experiences but it doesn't have to be exactly that experienc,you can set it up differently and have a different cause and effect or have it be a completely different story but your actions will often be your best inspiration.
Last but not least don't feel like you have to make things rhyme, ok? Because historically speaking it's just weird :)
