New chess passionate/ some question (searching council)

Good morning/afternon/evening xD Someone can help me?
I don't understand some things and I try advice. The first question is: Why, at the end of the game, if I am in the lead and run out of time I lose points in "classified"? and why the same thing happens if the opponent offer to me the game? Other thing: where can I find the schematics for checkmate? I ask this because I often find myself at the last moment (playing with the computer and sometimes with real opponents) to have, for example, a tower and a bishop, the opponent has only the king and I'm not able to checkmate. Help!
Hello,

"where can I find the schematics for checkmate"

A lot of chess sites are dealing with that point, but you can find checkmate patterns here for example : en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Checkmate_pattern

It is very interesting to know those patterns, they will help you to see possible checkmates in your games, and focus on.
Now, if you want to understand the moves that leads to those checkmates, youtube can help i think. For example type "rook + bishop checkmate" in youtube's search bar, you will get a lot of videos.

Take a look here too : fr.lichess.org/forum/general-chess-discussion/i-built-a-tool-for-training-endgames-what-do-you-think#10

Or take a look at Lichess studies or videos, you may find something helpful. For example : fr.lichess.org/video?tags=endgame

Sorry for my bad english, have a nice day.
It doesn't matter if you're winning by points. If your time is over you either lose or draw. You lose if your opponent still has pieces that can checkmate you. If he has not, it's a draw.
I think so but it seems there are some small differences between both rules; I'm not entirely sure, though.
