Take back and fair play

Hello guys, what do you think about taking or giving take back in Rated Games( NOT IN TOURNAMENT GAMES).
In such position where obviously somebody did a missclick or smth else.
If there just was a clear distinction when you declare something as missclick vs mistake... then I would give takebacks on missclicks, at least in blitz and rapid.

You will always end up with a greyzone where you are unsure. Just now I envision a probability distribution in my head... as this gets too complicated while playing and might distract from the position, I decided to never allow or request takebacks under normal circumstances.
Option disabled. Sometimes you throw a game sometimes your opponant does. So what.
I am still puzzled why take back button exists. There is the resign button already. Mistake is a mistake no matter it is oversight or mis-click. Chess board is pretty bick hitting right square is not that hard. In Go on fullsize 19x19 I do understand it to a degree. But on chess board nope.
I have turned my takeback button off for rated games. Rated is war.
I think it's beautiful chess is a game of alternating moves and there is no need to give the occasional game more beautiful chess content by allowing takebacks to undo ugly blunders or mouse slips or misclicks. They are part of the game, chess keeps its beauty.
Eventually lost chess content need not be revived by takebacks- but it can! It obviously comes at the cost of giving up on the beauty of going by the rule of alternating moves. We are free. Thanks!
Nope! Turned off. Would only use in a training type game with someone I know and trust.
I would normally grant it if it's an obvious mouse slip.

Just remember that by asking for a takeback you are solely relying on your opponent's courtesy. Nobody is obligated to grant it to you and them rejecting your request is not a bad sportsmanship.
Even if it was a mouse slip. Not your opponent's problem, since you can always replace the switches, buy a new mouse or use a click method to input the moves.
The consensus seems to be that there is no shame in resigning but that requesting a take back is beneath the royal game.
