Lichess Game of the Month June - Contest

Bit stupid how he blundered the queen, but I think it's a nice game overall.

Here's a game of mine I really liked and because of that I remembered it when I saw it again. After an initial flurry of inaccuracies and mistakes that don't really amount to much but the engine picks out because they're not book, my opponent makes a blunder on move 17 that costs him a piece.

On move 19 I try a favorite mating attack of mine that my opponent blocks in the usual fashion. I'm protecting my pieces and he's trying to attack, but on move 27 I see an opening to give check. I attack his Queen but don't see the added benefit of the Bishop hitting the corner; my opponent doesn't either. I think I may have made the next move without even knowing it was mate, only that it was a good check. So, game over hits me with a little surprise.

Thanks Lichess, this was fun.

Wait...Your opponent is 1900 and the game was 60 minutes, yet he made that stupid blunder?

Wow, what a game. I am voting for this one. Easily the best game for me here on this thread. Nice one @grendizer!

Thank you very much <3
Everyone is sharing games that they won, let me share one that I lost for a change :) Not sure about the best one, but this was really funny and heartbreaking for me.

Played almost a perfect bullet game against a 2700-rated player. Got an exchange advantage in the middle game, and held on to it. Found a partially smothered mate in the middle of the board after a forced pawn sacrifice by En Passant. Made the final mating move as a pre-move but was too slow and ran out of time anyways. So lost on time with a mate in 1 on board :)
