Training improvements

I've noticed alot of the newer puzzles in the training section lead to victory without actually finishing the game.

If this is intentional to help people improve their mid-game I believe it would be a good idea to create a new section for these puzzled similarly to the openings puzzles that now exist.
I agree.. As a request, I too would love to see puzzles for openings, mid-games, and end-games. In my opinion, we don't really need to have easy, medium, and hard skillsets as the games are ranked automatically. As one improves, they should be able to attain a higher ranking.

Just my two pennies rubbing together.. :)
They were always there, it's just the puzzle selection algorithm was broken for a long time.

Do you mean, that after every puzzle you should need to play until checkmate? I don't think so.

YES! Me too. Either the algorithem (http://de.lichess.org/blog/U4sjakQAAEAAhH9d/how-training-puzzles-are-generated) adds this info to the puzzles, which should not be so hard to implement. Or we have something like a TAG-cloud for people to vote on the puzzles (early game, middle game, end game, Anastasia's mate, Arabian mate, smothered mate). Which is much harder and less convenient. Also it could spoil the fun if you know what to play for (mate-in-4-puzzle versus win-the-rook-puzzle)

What I also would love to see, is early game puzzles with some specific opening choice. Like to have only puzzles which arose from the King's gambit or the Sicilian Defence.
Yes, puzzles from each part a chess game will help everyone overall. (My opinion, don't judge.)
Newer puzzles? They were all generated in 2-3 months in 2014, there have been no new puzzles since.

Hiding what is a mate puzzle and what is a material advantage puzzle is an intentional design decision. It encourages you to find the best move.

That said, there are certainly merits to the idea of splitting them as well. If they were to be split, the best solution IMO would be a sophisticated system of tags, with themes from 'Endgame' to 'Windmill' to even 'B+Q+N attack on castled king'.
