Everything you want to know about Lichess v2

@piffle many others is an overstatement, there is a very very small fraction who is still using windows vista as it's unsupported and therefore highly insecure to still use it on the web.

> A lot of the time, web programmers' code errors get passed off as, "oh, we're not supporting earlier browsers".
I've seen that enough times. Believe me, older browsers are a lot more robust, and if the code is correct,
will still work.

Of course it would still be possible to make it work on old browsers, it would just be much more effort too make it work. It's not reasonable to invest that much time for such a small minority (it's not even 1 percent). It is wiser to invest that time to make lichess better for the other 99 percent.
The new lichess seeks to improve experience of those playing with their mobile browsers; although it has succeeded as one no longer needs to pinch zoom to fit chessboard to screen, there are a couple of things which would make experience even more great ~

1. Bigger buttons in Analysis Mode : Forward, Backward.

In analysis mode, these buttons are very small, close and grouped together and as a result, I often accidentally touch nearby buttons which I do not intend to. Makes it very inconvenient to go back and forth.

There is an app 'Chess PGN Master' by Gerhard Kalab. What it does is, it assigns
-touch on rightmost part of screen to move game forward
-touch on leftmost part of screen to move game a move backward, just like turning pages in a bookreader app.

You may consider this technique as well, if feasible.

2. Making 'lichess.org' button a bit bigger, along with play, learn, watch together, etc. (both on desktop and mobile), as now the clickable portion is a thin strip . In earlier version it was fine.

Thank You for good work.
Cheers!
I'm a very rusty programmer myself but, what i know about programs is, interface is all that matters, you can not modify the interface that brought your app to be loved by so much people just to get modern without get in consideration the users opinion.
I bet that Lichess have much more desktop laptop users than mobile phones, maybe i'm wrong about that, but anyway...
The experience playing on desktop now is very poor, the interface is now ruined to that players.

What you should take in consideration is that almost all players on desktops, that play every day, multiple times in a day, or all day, have many tabs oppened in their web browsers, i have at least 48 tabs oppened forever in my browser, i restore it in chrome when have for some reason restart my pc, Lichess is one of these tabs since the begin of 2018.
I can not zoom in or out Lichess because i can not zoom in or out all the other tabs, that i use to work, and even if i can, opening new window just for Lichess I never get close to the proportions of the old and perfect interface.

What i know about comunitys, i am Global Moderator at EletrônicaBR.com the biggest and better electronics forum of Américas, one of the biggest and better of world.
All what we do, we do thinking first about what is better to the comunity itself, second what we can do for our members to they have better time in our comunity, new features, bug fixes, have been done as the main objective since 2014 so...
I know for sure that without members do not matter how modern is our web plataform, or our interface.

I got myself so stressed with that new interface and with the behavior of someone who told me in another forum topic that nothing will be done to fix this horrible big and unproportional interface, that i have done here in Lichess what only some very problematic members do in our comunity, I have cursed everyone, and lose reason, here are my apologies.

Since i got banned in my other acounts, i have played some games in this new acount, as someone suggested, to get used with it, and I must tell you again, it's not impossible to play using the new interface, but for sure v2 sucks!
I used to play a lot of games in a row during all day, and now because V2 i do not even have desire to play.

Since Lichess was the last place i liked to play because the old and good interface, and because have much less cheaters than in another plataforms, if you realy will do nothing to fix the problems that comes with V2 i will retire from chess, and this is very frustating.

One more, and for the last time, i will tell you what I think are the unique two things lichess v1 needs, a menu to choose the pieces to be inserted in the squares clicking in it on crazyhouse, and a fix for the sound problem.

About V2 needs to be proportional like V1 was, if when we resize de board all the things around it resizes too there are no problems at all i think, and of course you can work in the two things above.

You can be sure that i have much other things to do on my life, and if I'm here writing this for you is only because i realy care much about Lichess, even if we desagree about what is good or not for it.

I don't think a multiple banned user is listened too much, fortunately.
a few days I waited until the lichess will eliminate all the flaws and here I am on the chess.com, by the way he became much better than he was before (i mean chess.com)
Hi. I use Pale Moon browser v. 28.4.1 (32-bit) on Linux and cant see clock and notation after lichess update.

EDIT: solved after updaiting PM to 28.5.0
I think Lichess may have underestimated the number of users on desktops and old platforms - either doesn't work or looks terrible for anyone without a latest machine. Such a shame.
@CrowChess Where are getting your stats? Also, latest machine? You need to educate yourself as to just how low the bar is for a fully functioning Lichess2-compatible device. And even supposing they lost, say, 50% of their current users, more and more new (and potentially poor) users are now able to use all the site's features on cheap, low end phones and tablets. If you can't change the people, change the people!
