I like it, but as long as it is split up into bullet, blitz, classical, etc. Time can affect how good a person is by a lot.

I agree as well on the ranking, I think It is another stimulus
to keep on playing,
I thought about this, adding a ranking about 2 months ago
but I did not posted cause I thought maybe the lowest players
do not like to appear the last on the list and It could make new players, specially noobs, reluctant to join the site, chess is already a tough game so appearing the last one
has to be a little uneasy, but of course there are thousands
of players and the last ones are only a fraction of the whole pool, besides They might like the ranking set up included,
I think the site will get more of a competitive feel,
right now despite its minimalist appeal, It is a casual, friendly site, actually is open source and funded by voluntary
players, but of course this does not mean anything, perhaps
lichess players, want as well the ranking,
after all there is a rating already and We all like it.
Now, before implementing this feature,
It might be a good idea to add a a questionaire, a survey, a globlal survey, a yes no question, to all the players
so that We can decide if We like or dislike the new lichess option, and with the gathered data the developers will be
able to decide by themselves easier what is best for the site
but still the site is working pretty awesome, so maybe is not necessary,
It has grown a lot in chess variants and in players,
I am quite amazed about how good is becoming lichess,
One important thing to consider though, is that if the ranking is added, one has to construct a formula as there are different ratings already, so maybe is not as simple.
Anyway my simple vote is +1 for me as I said in the beginning.
