Flagging with only 1 minor piece

Hello, I’ve been playing online chess since 1995 and am still surprised lichess allows flagging in endgames where both players have only one minor piece left, such as KN vs KB or KB vs KB. I understand there are theoretical wins in such positions, but why not allow someone to ‘try’ a mate for say a maximum of 5 more moves, and then call it a day? A similar thing can be done for KR vs KR which in 99.999% is also an immediate draw. Sure, allow the ‘flagger’ to try for a few moves and potentially reward his faster play, but then show a little mercy on the poor person being flagged - and indeed the spirit of the game, which stipulates you can’t win with just one minor piece left. It’s the decent thing to do. A nice platform such as lichess shouldn’t be abused by silly flaggers who are too weak to win by any normal means.
The problem here is: where do you draw the line?

Yes, KN vs KB is generally a draw but perfect play should never be assumed. The futility of programming an "arbiter" aside (this has been asked many times before), what happens if the system is implemented in a flawed manner? There'd be loads of "I had mate in N with KN vs KB, why did Lichess make this a draw?"/

It's inelegant, but play for threefold repetition or 50 move rule.
It’s easy to draw a line: just draw a line. Minor piece vs minor piece alone is a draw, or perhaps after 2 or 3 moves, and KR vs KR can be tried for 5 moves. What’s so difficult about this? In my view the argument ‘where to draw the line’ is essentially programmer laziness. Also, who will not like this ‘rule’? All chess players would understand this completely. Really, it’s not hard at all.

As a side note; how many people do you expect to ‘complain’ they had a forced mate in such a position? 1 in a million? ;-)
Time does matter but a draw is a draw. I could just as well say, if the position does not matter then why play chess at all?
@ArnieChipmunk
I had told Lichess before that FIDE should change rules when there are no forced mate in few piece endgame, it should become a draw by default. I even talked about that it has to be programmed somehow that it recognizes forced mate in a given position. But that forum had no effect. Still I wish to change the rule. I even mailed FIDE regarding the useless rule.
I generalized my perception on a forum months back where I said that unforced mates in such rare endings should be declared a draw: 'According to position, if either side has advantage and can be converted to win, then it should be declared a win to the side by arbiter. Else, with perfect play if the game is draw, then it should be declared as a draw.
I now found criteria to define my original words. 'An endgame of 7 pieces or less should solely be dependent on perfect play irrespective of rating of players'
The logic follows the fact that an amateur won't get such position against a titled player based on its own skill right from the start of game without using any external assistance.'
My words and the forum where this action took place: lichess.org/forum/general-chess-discussion/is-this-a-mistake?
My voice had not any effect though but you are a CM and probably they would give a thought after you tell them the same thing.
7k/5K1n/3B4/8/8/8/8/8 w - - 0 1 is an example of one such easy win. As soon as there is an exception to the "rule" of "K+minor piece on both sides + draw" the rule is busted. I won't try to guess how such a position is reached in game, but it is possible.
