I would like to let my suggestion, it's simple: to give us the possibility to start the game in a specific opening, like Ruy Lopez, in order to train what you are studying at the moment
it doesn't need to be scored in the pontuation system, it can be if both agree but the real intention is not to catch points but to train

You already can if you're challenging a friend. I think the problem with making this available in the main lobby is that a lot of people will join the game unaware of the actual starting position. How could we make the UI work with this kind of functionality?
I didn't know it was possible with friends, i only have 1 friend and he doesn't play this often

the score system could be:
- friendly (i'm not looking for points) or "visitor decides" which means you would like to play rated but if your opponent doesn't it can turn to friendly, with a quick window asking what will it be
I you challenge someone directly, or select "play with a friend' (this allows you to play with anyone by sending them a link to the game), you can play from any position you would like by selecting "From Position" from the Variants drop down.

I'd like:
when I create a game that anyone can accept, I can set up a position and also type in some text (eg, Spanish with 3. ...a6). The, when the challenge is shown the icon has some distinguishing feature (colour?) and when you hover over the icon, a pop-up shows position and text.
In order to study, you can use the editor. Set a position and play agains Stockfish. You can set also stockfish level.
I don't think anyone on the dev team has the time for this feature, but if someone from the community wanted to add it, lichess is an opensource project.
