Just an idea I would personally appreciate (so maybe others would to). Either a new variant or just something in the "create a game" options which means that all takebacks will be allowed, provided that someone isn't trying to take back however many consecutive moves eg you're allowed to take back two consecutive moves but not three or more. It would probably make sense to have a separate rating for these games like you have for separate variants and the different time controls.
Good idea, but:
I can just play a move and then my opponent could just takeback twice and then the position just goes back 2 moves, and vice versa.
Endless game.
But in the end (really, i mean it) it's a good idea.
How bout start a team of people who like takebacks and just make your own tournament where people allow all takebacks
I saw a variant played once whereby your opponent can force you to take back your move and play a different one (unless youi played the only legal move). Even a recapture. Therefore you have to be careful about allowing exchanges.
Of course it's only one per move.
On a checkmate, it wouldn't automatically end the game because your opponent can force you to take it back. Therefore you'll need multiple checkmating moves in the final position.
